Darton Pubs : The White Bear Inn pub in Darton near Barnsley
'this is the best pub i have ever been to in the whole of south yorkshire area for entertainment and amazing staff.
there is still no cooked food being catered for on the premises but a fantastic snack selection is available.
the staff are the most pleasant individuals ive ever come across in a pub enviroment and make you feel so welcome.
the entertainment side of the house is out of this world boasting a massive 80,000 karaoke tracks and a out of this world karaoke disco system complete with light show the karaoke starts on a sunday afternoon from 16.00 untill 21.00 an ideal afternoon out if you have children.
there was talk of the karaoke being started on a weekend fri and sat nights but you will have to ring the staff phone number to verify which is 07786308176.
the new landlord and lady are a 100% turn around from the last lot and a true sence of community has shed a new light on the white bear the new owners do everything they can to involve the community and dont hold any restrictions ie pets etc.
we have had a great time at the white bear since the new owners took over around christmas time we feel like part of the furniture its just what darton needed to boost the community spirits the new owners are also very generous at putting out the odd curry or free food now and again and have more than often used the staff cars to ferry people home when the weather has turned and at no charge a truly amazing place to be on a weekend night or sunday afternoon theres not many places that i know that will put out free food or provide such warm and friendly service to the degree where you actually think you have known the customers and staff for years i do wish the new owners all the luck and success for 2008 and would urge anyone to go along for the sunday afternoon karaoke its a definate must.
