Glasgow Pubs : B Js Bar & Diner pub in Glasgow 'It's maybe a bit strange reviewing a pub that I've never been in but you'll maybe understand why!
It's just that from the outside it doesn't look like a pub - more a pool or snooker club.
Also usually when I pass by there's a bouncer or bouncers on the door - is that really necessary on Byres Road?
Hopefully though I'll soon give it a try and let you know how I got on and what I thought!

Glasgow Pubs : Bon Accord pub in Glasgow 'The Bon Accord must be one of Glasgow's greatest pubs - if not THE best!
I've been going there at least once a week for the past four years and have never had a disagreeable experience.
EVERY member of staff and management treat you like a valued friend and although I'm not a real-ale drinker their range of ale and guest-ales looks fantastic (I might even try one soon).
Everything about this pub is good and they have a great menu with meals being served up to 8pm.
The toilets are spotless as is the rest of the pub and they have a great quiz night on Wednesdays and live entertainment at the weekends.
Clientele is mostly over 25s and I've never seen a hint of trouble in this just-off Charing Cross pub!' Report
Glasgow Pubs : Buchanan Tavern pub in Glasgow 'Buchanan's, as the saying goes, 'Does Exactly What It Says On The Tin'!
It's a cheap city-centre bar that suits the customers who frequent it!
Homeless hostels nearby provide it with customers but any sign of trouble is sorted-out very quickly indeed.
As far as my own drinking is concerned I find it OK and prefer it to The Lorne Bar 50 yards away that thinks it's a cut-above Buchanan's because they charge almost £1 a pint more for the same product and clintele!' Report
Glasgow Pubs : Cairns Bar pub in Glasgow 'This is not a pub to go into if you fancy a pint after 9pm on a weekday.
Enter after 9pm and the first thing you will see is the bar-staff looking at the clock and then turning round to face you with a look of incredulity as if you should have known better!
Sometimes they even tell you that the bar is just closing (not that it's closed as that wouldn't explain their mates sitting with two full pints in front of them)!
The temerity of some customers!!!' Report
Glasgow Pubs : The Horseshoe Bar pub in Glasgow 'Used to be a great pub but is now nearly at the bottom of a very slippery slope!!!
Not so long ago if you went in and it was very busy, a member of the bar-staff would spot the door opening and come and tell you that they would be with you in a moment - they usually were!
About four months ago I popped in about 10pm and although the place was very quiet, the bar staff disappeared down the end of the bar and refused to even look in my direction!
They were obviously having too good a time among themselves to bother with serving customers - the guy beside me at the bar told me the same thing had happened to him when he came in - I put it down to catching them on a bad night and left to go elsewhere!
Owing to the Horseshoe's previous reputation I ventured in the next week only to find nothing had improved - the bar staff were congregated down at the far end of the bar where there were no customers and every time I moved to one side of the partition they moved to the other like they were playing some demented game of hide and seek.
Again I left and when I recounted the tale to a friend he told me the same thing had happened to him.
I have since been dragged in by a couple of friends on a busy Friday night and although we eventually got served it was not an experience we will repeat!
I know there have been a lot of complaints since the change of ownership and the fact that the place is now so empty should tell the new owners that there is something far wrong with the place - if you treat your customers with disdain then they will be customers no more!!!' Report
Glasgow Pubs : The Waldorf pub in Glasgow 'Won some money in a quiz here last year and almost had to call the SAS to escort me past the growling regulars!!!
What's the point in advertising a quiz if you only want your regulars to enter?
' Report
Glasgow Pubs : Florida Park pub in Glasgow 'This seems to be a good wee pub for locals!
If you're not a local or regular though you will be subject to scrutiny just in case your face doesn't fit.
If you can overcome the parochial customers though it is quite well-run and friendly enough with a beer-garden round the back (or a place to go for a smoke)!

Glasgow Pubs : The Snaffle Bit pub in Glasgow 'I used to get dragged to this pub 30 years ago and decided to give it a try recently.
It was like being in a time-warp - it hasn't changed in all that time.
It was soulless then and it's soulless now - but many people like it so who am I complain?' Report
