Hutton-Le-Hole Pubs : The Crown pub in Hutton-Le-Hole near York 'Last year my family and I went to Hutton-le-Hole for a day trip, and before visiting the Ryedale folk museum decided to stop for lunch. The pub was packed out, but they still put the five of us on a tiny table and took our money for meals and drinks. We paid before we ate, and recieved terrible customer service.
My mother was brought the wrong meal, and when she asked to have it changed to what she originally ordered (she has specific diet requirements otherwise she would have just eaten the thing she was given) the waitress just walked off. Then the correct meal was brought, the waitress then threw the change onto the table (some of it fell off) and walked away. We then realised that the accompanying vegetables hadn't come (this was about 30 mins later) so reluctantly we asked the waitress once again, she gave us no response and moodily walked away.
So we decided after recieving such terrible treatment (and food) to go somewhere else and went to the bar to ask for a refund. The pub owner swore at my mother. So on our way out my father tipped his pint over the table (this was obviously the wrong thing to do but he had seriously lost his temper at this point) the landlord then came halfway down the village after us and very nearly punched my dad until my brother started calling the police.
Needless to say we didn't go to Ryedale folk museum after that, nor did we eat lunch that day, the whole incident affected me for a few days really. I've never received such offensive customer service in my life.' Report
Leeds Pubs : Angel Inn pub in Leeds 'Hidden away in an alley way at the heart of Leeds, this pub is a gem. Cheap pints and cosy atmosphere, it's the ideal retreat from the bustling city outside. Just walking down the little alley way and into the secluded entrance gives you a bit of that "pub magic". One of my favourite places to spend a few quiet drinks with my mates on a Sunday afternoon.' Leeds Pubs : Dry Dock pub in Leeds 'If student life, novelty atmosphere and crowded "pound a pint" nights are your thing, then this is the ideal place for you. For everyone else though, it's worth the one-off visit because of the crazy ship on a hill design, but the packed drunk student atmosphere at night can be a bit tiring.
It's a haven on hot summer afternoons when the pub is usually not too busy and you can relax up on the top "deck" with parasols and a lovely grassy hill behind.' Report
