Dewsbury Pubs : West Riding Refreshment Rooms pub in Dewsbury 'Without a doubt the 'best' pub in Dewsbury. The staff are always very friendly, and seem to enjoying working here almost as much as the customers like drinking here. Range of real ale is fantasic, always 4x guest beers on draught, with the addition of a Leffe / La Chouffe / Mc Chouffe / rotation.
Great location, (next to the town railway station. Daytime food is great, and the pub does various 'theme' nights, Curry, Pie, and steak, and not to forget the Saturday all day breakfasts.. The Building is fantasic, a land mark within the town, and with the West Riding re-doing there toilets recently the owners managers have a public house they can be 100% proud of.' Report
Dewsbury Pubs : Bath Hotel pub in Dewsbury 'The Bath Hotel is a lovely little pub, with very reasonable prices(Sam-Smiths) No matter whenever you pass you'll see people sitting outside... One thing however, they should bring back the hanging baskets outside, the building looks very plain without them.' Report
Dewsbury Pubs : Rose & Crown Inn pub in Dewsbury 'A confusing one, The place is done out very nice, but i am unsure who they are trying to attract? No real ales, just lots of larger's and funny coloured alco pops. Onlt time i called in was to see a Madness tribute band.. which consisted of a ONE man band, singing 'Lip up fattie' by Bad Manners???? to backing tapes... Has potential, but certainly not used.' Dewsbury Pubs : Cedric Tapps pub in Dewsbury 'TAPPS is a decent pub in the centre of the town. Great Games room that always seems buzzing. Really freindly staff, who always strike up a conversation. Nice traditional feel to the place, TAPPS has not seen the need to accomodate or bend to the trend of the more populer pubs just down the road..which is great.' Report
Batley Pubs : The Cellar Bar pub in Batley 'This place is gem, well worth a visit, even if it's to walk up a down this fanastic building's stone steps to visit the finest loo's in West Yorkshire. Saturday night's can be a treat in here, everything from Open-mic sessions to live bands, to themed parties...all soaked up with real fine ale that is always to a high standard. With a Pool table, darts, SKY tv and a excellent Jukebox on offer, your never short of being entertained in this place, even on a quiet night.... To Top all this off, the staff are wonderful here, always very freindly and very helpfull, you can't top this place for a evening out anywhere else in Batley...' Report
Dewsbury Pubs : The Old Turk pub in Dewsbury 'The potential for this place is astounding..A really old stone building (said to be Dewsbury's oldest pub), with wooden beams on the roof, and various farming tools affixed to the walls that would make Jethro Tull proud.. But... unfortunatly over the past year the standard of this pub have dropped into something horrible. The beer is not of this planet, a mixed broth of water and whatever has been in the lines the last 6 months, leading anyone with any sense to drink from bottles only..but check the date! This pub needs some serious TLC, and it could be a real winner.' Report
Dewsbury Pubs : The Leggers Inn pub in Dewsbury 'Leggers is a great pub at the side of the Canal, a little out of the way from the town, and does take some effort to visit, however when you do, it is worth it. The vibe of the place is very nice, and there is a good beer selection including real ales and vice beer... However, i do find that the staff can be a little "off" with non-regulars. Everytime i have been i feel a little uncomfy waiting to be served, and i once was 'tutted' at for ordering a Jacket potato on a Sunday lunch time. Other then that, well worth a visit.' Report
Dewsbury Pubs : The Black Bull pub in Dewsbury 'A real effort has been made to try and make this pub really work, as it's in the heart of the town centre. The bull tried having bands on, but realised getting a band to play, didn't always mean attracting punters.. in perticuler, awful under rehursed school bands. Some of the people that go in the bull leave a little to be desired, I once witnessed a fight between two very wobbly, tattooed 40 something females, throwing each other over the pool table..and yelling '"I love maa kids i dooo" etc at each other..., well after that i never went back.
My funniest pub moment did happen in here though, Upon ordering a bottle of the house Red, i was presented with it unopened (cork still in-tact), I asked for it opening.. it was opened, then had ask for a couple of glasses... and i was given 2 pint glasses, by the time i politly asked again for wine glasses and got the biggest groan i ever heard in return... Do visit, It's a giggle.' Report
