This user has reviewed the following pubs:

Ironbridge Pubs : Bird In Hand pub in Ironbridge near Telford
'The pub was extremely cluttered. My wife and I went in for an evening meal on a cold March evening. The barman seemed reasonably friendly, but not very chatty considering there were only 2 other people in the lounge area. He spent most of the time we were there chatting to the locals in the bar. The food seemed to be a bit greasy and the following day my wife was ill, with a headache and sickness, and I didn't feel too well either. The following 2 evenings we ate at The Golden Ball and Ye Olde Robin Hood Inn which were "miles" better in every aspect.'

Ironbridge Pubs : The Golden Ball Inn pub in Ironbridge near Telford
'My wife and I walked there from Jackfield on a cold, dark March evening and were made welcome by the friendly staff. Once we got a table, we felt really comfortable and didn't want to leave. There was a choice of beers: real ale (my favourite), 2 draught Belgian beers (also my favourite), several bottled Belgian beers (you've guessed) and others. The food was hearty, well prepared and scrumptious. I was even asked after buying the first drinks if I wanted to start a "tab", which I did. I recommend this pub for its drinks, food and friendliness and I would definitely return.'

Ironbridge Pubs : The Swan pub in Ironbridge near Telford
'I don't know what it's like in an evening, or during the summer months, but in March, when the sun is low and after a good walk, the staff were very welcoming. The atmosphere takes you back decades and the drinks are well served. My wife and I enjoyed two quiet and relaxing afternoons in The Swan and would recommend it to anyone. It was our first port of call when we stayed at Jackfield, and it will be our first port of call when we return to Ironbridge. Keep it up!'

Ironbridge Pubs : Ye Old Robin Hood pub in Ironbridge near Telford
'Yet another friendly pub in Ironbridge (miles better than its close neighbour). The food was excellent and served hot, and they know how to look after their cask ales. The evening my wife and I ate and drank there, we were entertained by a folk group that set up while we ate, and sang while we drank. It was an excellent evening. The owner and his staff were extremely friendly and helpful, so we have no hesitation in recommending the pub and we'll definately return.'
