Flagg Pubs : The Bull I Th Thorn Inn pub in Flagg near Buxton
'This is a nice pub that's pretty much in the middle of nowhere. We eat there regularly and there's a wide range of food, including more than one vegetarian dish (shock horror!) although, as with all pubs, ordering the vegetarian option means you have to wait a long time before it arrives. Portion sizes are unusually generous. The pub suffers a little from eccentric-landlord syndrome (expect to have a conversation with the chef if he's walking through) but that's not unusual around here. At least they're making an effort. And, of course, this is an astonishingly old building with bags of history. I can't talk about the campsite but I don't think it's fair to mark-down the pub because of any bad experiences there. Besides which, camping is all about making do. '
