Redmile Pubs : The Windmill Inn pub in Redmile near Nottingham
'We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the lunch we enjoyed here today Saturday, June 28, 2008 as we took a "pit stop" on our tramp along the Nottingham - Grantham canal. The 2 course lunch special was excellent value at £8.95. I had the best steak & kidney pie I've met for years, my wife's bream was succulent(she said) and the vegetables were fresh and cooked just right. Desserts did not disappoint (summerfruit pudding + tangy choco-orange cheesecake with pot of fresh cream) and the deal included a real coffee! Staff (some Polish) all appeared friendly and efficient. Final points to mention are the well appointed outdoor eating area and the pub cat "Bella" who joined us for lunch.'
