Brighouse Pubs : The Prince Of Wales Inn pub in Brighouse 'What a smashing pub! Fantastic beers and really friendly customers. The young couple - Mark and Katy - that now run the pub are a lovely couple and are really making an effort. The food really is home-made and very reasonably priced.
Do make a point of visiting this pub and sampling one of the six hand-pulled beers which they have. The Black Sheep Riggwlter is to be recommended!!' Report
Leeds Pubs : Becketts Bank pub in Leeds 'Typical Wetherhspoons. No longer cheap. Very long queues at the bar and the staff have no idea who is next because they don't look and they don't care. Indifferent beer and usually a limited choice. Lots of 'managers' but no one seems to be in charge. Avoid this pub and go somewhere else, especially when Leeds are playing at home. It seems to be a meeting place for the supporters who are very rowdy and the staff just let them get on with it, probably because they are too frightened to do anything. A few times the pub has been trashed and the riot police have been called in a number of times and told the manager to close.' Report
Leeds Pubs : Cross Keys pub in Leeds 'Very pretentious. Very expensive. Very small portions. Avoid.' Report
Leeds Pubs : Lens Bar pub in Leeds 'Usual Len Cohen trick. Start up a business, get local businesses to do work for him. Don't pay them and then go into bankruptcy/liquidation/insolvency. This guy is rolling in other peoples money!' Report
Leeds Pubs : Scarborough Hotel pub in Leeds 'Very over rated and expensive. I have been in a few times and have yet to have a decent pint. I don't go in anymore. ' Report
Leeds Pubs : Stick Or Twist pub in Leeds 'Typical Wetherhspoons. No longer cheap. Very long queues at the bar and the staff have no idea who is next because they don't look and they don't care. One of the worst Wetherspoons for choice and quality of beer (the Timepiece in Dewsbury is worst). Lots of 'managers' but no one seems to be in charge. Kids screaming and running around all over the place. Avoid this pub and go somewhere else. Deecent customers are not welocome. It can be very rowdy and the staff just let them get on with it, probably because they are too frightened to do anything. ' Report
Leeds Pubs : Penny Hill pub in Leeds 'The only comment I can make is this pub is a dump.' Report
Leeds Pubs : The Adelphi pub in Leeds 'To say this is the 'brewery tap' and Tetleys brewery is a few yards away it makes me wonder how they can ruin the beer. It is vile. Guess where Tetley's staff go for a pint? The Red Lion over the road, a Sam's pub and a hell of a lot cheaper than here!' Report
Leeds Pubs : Templar Hotel pub in Leeds 'A fantastic pub and the best pint of Tetley's you will get anywhere. Ian (the landlord) has been here for a number of years and keeps a good house and a good pint and has kept the price down (£1.83 as at July 2008). This is a working-mans pub so the language can at times be 'fruity'. Sadly this pub and the surrounding area are due for demolition in 2009 to make way for 'improvements' and a new shopping centre.' Report
Leeds Pubs : The Blooming Rose pub in Leeds 'Seems to be boarded up for times than it is open.' Report
Leeds Pubs : The Grove Inn pub in Leeds 'Lovely pub and beer and John the manager is a great guy. Downside is it's just too expensive.' Report
Leeds Pubs : Three Hulats pub in Leeds 'The manager who runs this pub is a thug and a bully and the sooner Wetherspoons get rid of him the better for the pub and the locals. He is racist against white people so beware if you do go in. Black people are more than welcome and are allowed to bully the staff. Apart from that typical Wetherspoons. Beer not tot bad but no longer cheap. ' Report
Leeds Pubs : Travellers Rest pub in Leeds 'In the late 70's this was a really lovely pub. It has now now been trashed and is a souless dump frequented by unsavoury characters.' Report
Wakefield Pubs : Fernandes pub in Wakefield 'Strangers are not welcome here. Used to be run by a couple and she thought it more fun to chat to her mates at the bar rather than serve the upteen customers who were waiting to get served - I walked out never to return. thankfully they have gone now. Scruffy entrance. Flat overpriced beer.' Report
Wakefield Pubs : Harewood Arms pub in Wakefield 'Last time I was in this gay bar was on a weekday afternoon. I was the only customer apart from two old ladies sharing a half. I commented at the high price of a pint of Tetleys. He commented "It's a city centre pub mate and you pay city centre prices. You won't find a cheaper pint round here mate". Wetherspoons is a few yards away.' Report
Wakefield Pubs : Henry Boons pub in Wakefield 'Brewery tap but biggest selling beer is Stella. Get the hint?' Report
Wakefield Pubs : The Talbot & Falcon pub in Wakefield 'Used to be a smashing pub with great beer. Has changed hands a number of times over the years with some landlords/ladies feeling they should run a pub from their living quarters. Avoid' Report
Wakefield Pubs : The Redoubt pub in Wakefield 'Strangers not welcome. Woman behind the bar called Caz has been their a number of years and is all over her mates and the regulars but if you are a stranger you will get the cold shoulder. Used to be the best pint of Landlord in the world but the price just kept going up and up and the last three times I have been the beer has been very poor. ' Report
Batley Pubs : The Union Rooms pub in Batley 'At one time was the worst Wetherspoons in this area for choice of beer only the Timepiece in Dewsbury being worse. New manager took over last year (2007) and initially the beer improved as did the choice. Sadly over the last month or so (July 2008) it's going downhill again. Toilets are a right trek so give yourself 5 minutes or you might have an accident.' Report
Brighouse Pubs : The Black Swan pub in Brighouse 'Good range of hand-pulled beers. Locals pub, table full of young guys when I went in on a saturday afternoon, no trouble but the language was disgraceful and I won't be going back.' Report
Brighouse Pubs : The Richard Oastler pub in Brighouse 'One of the better Wetherspoons for choice and quality of beer, a pity other JDW pub managers don't take Andy's lead (the pub manager here) and put on a good range of beers with normally every pump having a beer for sale rather than the usual "available soon" lable. Very interesting building. All the toilets are on the ground floor which is a bonus. ' Report
Leeds Pubs : Garden Gate Hotel pub in Leeds 'Beer is crap. Pub building itself is ok but is right next to the Jobcentre and is full of their customers. ' Report
Leeds Pubs : The Brown Hare pub in Leeds 'Not a very nice pub at all. Only go if you are really desparate. Ok if you want to buy cheap knocked-off chocolates or perfume etc. Limited choice of beers.' Report
Leeds Pubs : The Duck & Drake pub in Leeds 'How this pub is still open is a mystery to me. Nothing has been spent on it at least 25 years. The toliets are filthy and basically the pub is well basic and dirty. Very overpriced beer with questionable quality. ' Report
Leeds Pubs : The Palace pub in Leeds 'Make sure you take plenty of money 'cos it aint cheap in here!' Report
Leeds Pubs : The Viaduct pub in Leeds 'Beer in here is absolutely vile.' Report
Leeds Pubs : Town Hall Tavern pub in Leeds 'Ok but just too expensive' Report
Leeds Pubs : Victoria Hotel pub in Leeds 'Pub building is lovely but that's all. I have persevered with this pub over the years and have yet to have a decent pint. It is overpriced and not a boozers pub. ' Report
Leeds Pubs : Whitelocks pub in Leeds 'Expensive so make sure it isn't your round when you go in. ' Report
Leeds Pubs : Wrens pub in Leeds 'Went in here a couple of weeks ago. Three hand-pumps including Landlord. I wouldn't wash my feet in any of the beers they were so poor and at £2.50 a pint I expect it to be on top form. Pub was empty.' Report
Wakefield Pubs : Harewood Arms pub in Wakefield 'Beware if you make any negative comments about this pub, you will get a boat-load of abuse in your message box. That might give you some idea of what to expect if you use the pub. Pity some managers/landlords etc can't take a bit of criticsm isn't it?' Report
