Plaxtol Pubs : The Golding Hop pub in Plaxtol near Sevenoaks
'On 14-7-2008 my wife and I visited this pub. I had never been before, she used to go there 30 years ago. The doors were opened at 6.00 p.m. by the governor. Despite the fact that I was only 3 feet away, not a word was spoken. We went in and was "served". The wine was cheap £2.20 for 125mL glass, which was nowhere near a full measure. This was one of those occasions where an illusion was shattered. We would never go there again, at least not unless we heard that the present governor had left. Ok you could say that he was having a bad day, but no, we went to two another local pub, and they confirmed that he is always like this. The Golding Hop was described as a drinkers pub, so be warned if you want a pleasant drink avoid this place. OK running a pub is hard work etc, but why take on the job if you can't at least smile! '
