Harrietsham Pubs : The Pepper Box Inn pub in Harrietsham near Maidstone
'My Husband and I visited this pub for the first time this Sun 27th July and definately would not recommend!
We ordered the Smoked Duck Salad and Potted Shrimp. We found the Duck starter to be very delicious and had no problems with this. We found a black hair in the potted shrimp and because we did not want to make a fuss we thought we would let this pass.
For our main dishes we order a Roast Lamb and Beef to find that with my Yorkshire pud it was accompanied by a curly black hair (And I think we all not what hair it was!!) Well we made a complaint to the waiter and also mentioned about the potted shrimp. He returned back and offered us a refund on one starter and main course. I also requested a refund on a glass of wine that I had bought to have with my meal, but did not have it due to the curly black hair! The Manageress/Owner came over in a rude manner saying "I understand you have a problem with haory food. I cannot refund on a drink you have bought at the bar. At this point my husband and myself did not care and just said fine and just settled our bill!. I would not recommend this pub to anyone, unless you enjoy unhygienic curly black hairs in your food! Owner and waiter did really care, so I am guessing they can afford to lose custom.'
