Leeds Pubs : Wetherspoons pub in Leeds 'Another 11p per pint increase ! What are Wetherspoons thinking of.
That’s now an increase of over 17% in the last 6 months. Gone are the days when the increases used to be one or two pence.
Back in April or May these prices went up by 10p, then in August another 10p per pint was slapped on. Two weeks into October yet another increase this time 11p per pint.
This adds up to 31p per pint increase, can anyone tell us how many pints per week this pub sells ? I reckon Wetherspoons are now taking the Pi##
There are now a number of other pubs in Leeds town centre that sell cheaper ale than this one. I will be voting with my feet.

Leeds Pubs : Stick Or Twist pub in Leeds 'This used to be a good pub but its gone down hill over the last 18 months.
No one appears to look after the beers. Most of the time a number of the pumps not connected.
When you get a pint here you have to wait at the bar for a while to see if your beer is going to clear, I get fed up of taking pint after pint back. Its becoming the norm to be served with a pint of cloudy, poor tasting ale. Recently a pint of Roosters IPA looked like pure orange juice (I was told it was a new barrel), an hour later I saw two people at the bar asking for their Roosters to be changed. The staff were still selling it even though they knew it wasn’t fit for consumption. This is such a shame because Roosters if looked after is a great beer.
The added problem here is noisy kids, this pub used to be the ideal place to sit and chat with friends or read a news paper, you cant do that peacefully any more. Kids are screaming and running round, the parents don’t seem bothered and neither do the staff.
I understand, to pay for this so called pleasure will now cost you an extra 10p per pint.

Leeds Pubs : Duncan pub in Leeds 'Don’t change a tenner in this pub or you will have someone asking you for a sub.
Don’t sit down in your best clothes if you do, it’s a trip to the dry cleaners.
The place smells and could do with fumigating.

Leeds Pubs : The Drysalters pub in Leeds 'No real ales on sale here only smooth but the price of a pint is reasonable.
The place has become run down and is in need of a refurb.
Kids are a regular nuisance running round and making lots of noise, staff don’t seem
bothered. The volume of music is very high but I think that is more to please the staff than customers.
It’s a pub I wouldn’t take my wife in due to the loud swearing that can be often be heard coming from a group of drinkers sat at a table close to the bar. The staff condone the swearing as they join in with some of the banter from that group.
This used to be a decently run pub some years ago, it’s a shame the owners don’t keep an eye on it.

Leeds Pubs : The George pub in Leeds 'This is a good old fashion pub with friendly staff. It sits opposite the LGI therefore gets Docs and Nurses plus hospital visitors calling in for a drink. The beer is usually kept to a high standard and is immediately changed if you take it back for any reason.
The only draw back is the price, it’s a bit above average.

Leeds Pubs : The Palace pub in Leeds 'Yes the Palace is a good pub, always has been. it caters mainly for a mature crowd
who are well behaved. There are a good range of house and guest beers which are always kept well. I used to enjoy calling in this pub about once a week for 2 or 3 pints but then shock horror the prices leapt up. The price of the guest beers is now out of my league. To be frank and on principle, I object most strongly to being ripped off. This has stopped me going into a pub that I always enjoyed.

Leeds Pubs : Wetherspoons pub in Leeds '
A good wetherspoons pub. Friendly staff. Usually a good choice of well kept ales.
This pub like other wetherspoons houses built its reputation on cheap good ale.
Its still good ale but no longer cheap, its just gone up 10p per pint I think it was only 4 or 5 months ago when another 10p was slapped on.
I don’t know how many pints a week this pub sells but multiply the figure by 10p and I bet you get a substantial extra amount of money to go in their coffers each week. Our pockets are now that much lighter.

Leeds Pubs : Wheatsheaf Inn pub in Leeds 'This pub is closed and boarded up. By the way the photo is not of the Wheatsheaf ?' Report
Morley Pubs : The Old Griffin Head pub in Morley near Leeds 'I agree with the other comments about this pub. If you are not one of the locals you can sense people including the staff looking at you, it makes you feel a bit uncomfortable. It’s a nice traditional oldie worldie sort of pub. Its very clean with all the brasses sparkling. There always has to be a draw back and in this case it’s the price of a pint. Far too expensive for me which results in me having to sleck my thirst elsewhere.' Report
Leeds Pubs : The General Elliot pub in Leeds 'A good cheap pint of Sam Smiths, that said, there is not much more to say except, watch your wallet in here.

Leeds Pubs : The Regent Inn pub in Leeds 'Used to be one of the best pints of Tetleys bitter in Leeds.
I was shocked to call in a few weeks ago after an absence of a couple of years to find they were only selling smooth.

Leeds Pubs : Victoria Hotel pub in Leeds 'This is great traditional old Leeds pub. The bar and surrounding woodwork is very ornate, its like walking into a stately home. There is usually a good selection of house and guest beers but its here that my praise ends.
The place has become too expensive to drink in. I used to have a good session in this pub regularly but now only call in for the odd pint. I understand its owned by the same company that owns the Palace, both pubs are now too expensive for regular boozers. Far better to walk 100 yards up the road to the Cuthbert Broderick (Wetherspoons)

Leeds Pubs : The Pack Horse pub in Leeds 'Please note this is the Pack Horse not Park Horse.
This is a nice traditional old pub thats hardly changed over the last 50 years. Only problem is, its too expensive to drink here.' Report
Leeds Pubs : The Mustard Pot pub in Leeds 'The price of a pint is daylight robbery or maybe could be better described as “being mugged” Marstons Pedigree £2.90 ! Mansfields Smooth £2.90 ! Guinness £3.10 !
and Hoegaarden (whatever that is) £3.70 !' Report
Scarborough Pubs : The Golden Ball pub in Scarborough 'A good basic Sam Smiths house. Usual Sams beers including Sovereign and Sams own extra stout on draft which is always worth a try. A pint of bitter for less than £1.50 well worth calling again.' Report
Scarborough Pubs : The Highlander Hotel pub in Scarborough 'This is a traditional boozers pub. A good selection of hand pulled beers which are usually kept well. The staff appear friendly as do the customers who are mainly middle aged and older. If I visit Scarborough I look forward to calling in this pub. Its worth noting that they also do accommodation' Report
Scarborough Pubs : The Lord Roseberry pub in Scarborough 'A good and busy Wetherspoons pub. The crowd is a mix of locals and holiday makers all out for some good cheap ale. Having said that Wetherspoons keep slipping an extra 10p on a pint so it could now cost less to drink elsewhere.' Report
Scarborough Pubs : The Hole In The Wall pub in Scarborough 'Always was a good pub with a good selection of hand pulled ales.
Last few times I called in, (which is a good while ago) there were no more than 5 or 6 customers. The price of a pint could explain the lack of custom. Can’t remember exactly the price but it was sufficiently high to ensure I wouldn’t be returning.

Leeds Pubs : Stick Or Twist pub in Leeds 'It’s a couple of months since I was last in this pub, I wasn’t impressed then but thought I would see if anything had improved.
My visit was on a Saturday afternoon and if anything its worse. Still lots of noisy
kids to put you off your drink. Three pumps were not connected and I got a cloudy pint. But the worst example of customer relations I have ever seen in here was a male member of staff (looked to be Chinese) shouting and swearing at an elderly gentleman who was sat some distance from the bar. This was in full view and earshot of other customers some of who were women.. The elderly chap looked to be clean dressed and respectable (wasn’t one of the wino’s who sometimes go in) He looked to be clearly embarrassed at receiving that sort of treatment from the bar man. I don’t know what the problem was but surely this was no way to deal with it.
I guess that incident, will have put a number of people off going in this pub, it certainly has me. Disgusting is the only way to describe it.
Come on Wetherspoons, give your staff some better training.
