Copt Oak Pubs : The Copt Oak pub in Copt Oak near Markfield
'Just returned from a meal at the Copt Oak and were surprised by the previous negative comments. For the price, the service & food were excellent. The restaurant was busy, but we were seated and served immediately. We have a child with severe learning difficulties who does not do 'waiting' and we are sometimes apprehensive about 'busy' pubs, but service was great. We ordered from the 2 for a tenner menu. I had steak - a full 8oz steak for £5! Salad was fresh & crisp & steak was perfectly done (I like my steak medium rare and in most pubs, that equates to well done when it arrives). All the food arrived promptly and all together. My partner is vegetarian, and there was a good selection for her - it was nice to see deserts marked up as suitable for vegetarian - something often overlooked, especially as many deserts contain gelatin. Drinks were reasonable, with a good selection of wines for just over a £10. Staff were very friendly and welcoming and the waitress was knowledgeable about the food on the menu. Overall, not haute cuisine but excellent value for money, good food, good service and good atmosphere. We will be back! '
