Rothley Pubs : The Red Lion Inn pub in Rothley near Leicester
'I visited this pub in December 2009 on recomendation from a friend who had heard of the new management in place from the very popular Copt Oak in Markfield. My first impressions were positive - the restaurant was clean with modern decor and spacious throughout the eating area. We were greeted upon arrival by one of the management team who seated us and immediately took the drinks order. He was extremely polite and courteous and we found the service to be very efficient considering how busy it was for a week night. We opted for the carvey which was billed as 2 for £8.00 and extremely good value too - the meat was tender and lean and a excellent selection of fresh vegetables were on offer along with the usual roast accompanyments. We found all the staff to be friendly and polite and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. We shall certainly be returning to the Red Lion in future as this new management team are doing wonders at turning the restaurant around. '
