This user has reviewed the following pubs:

Isleworth Pubs : The Royal Oak pub in Isleworth
'One of the last great Pubs of the Hounslow/Iisleworth area. Low ceilings, cosey nooks, dim lighting - the duke box lets it down a bit but that's just being pickey.'
Report

Isleworth Pubs : The Waiting Room pub in Isleworth
'Full of piky's in baseball caps spoiling for a fight. Avoid at all costs.'
Report

Isleworth Pubs : Rose & Crown pub in Isleworth
'One for beer purists and pub lovers alike. Nice atmosphere though sometimes a bit quiet. Good decor, nice beer garden for those summer sessions!'
Report

Hounslow Pubs : The Rifleman pub in Hounslow
'Since the demise of the profoundly great 'The Chariot' some 6 years hence, it has been left to the Rifleman to carry Hounslow's public House mantle. Suberb duke box, quaint decor but best avoided at weekends unless you are young or play in a band. Pat and Beer Father Steve however, are the greatest hosts you could wish for.'
Report

London (W) Pubs : The Raven pub in London (W)
'West London suffers with a real lack of the modern pub/bar that characterises the rest of London in its ubiquity. The best of its kind west of Notting hill, it combines the minimalism of the modern drinking hole with the soft lighting and the rough edges of a more traditonal drinking establishment. Good for: Saturday night.'
Report

Hounslow Pubs : Noble Half pub in Hounslow
'Now called 'The Larkin Inn' - it's 4th incarnation in as many years. Was once the wonderful 'Noble Half' and students used to drink there. Now attracts Hounslow's postmen on a Friday afternoon. Good for: Postman'
Report

Hounslow Pubs : The Bulstrode pub in Hounslow
'This pub has remained pretty much unchanged since I came to London in 1993 - save for the odd lick of paint. In a world of misplaced 'All Bar 1's' and 'Pitcher and Piano's' this is a good thing, High ceilings, dark wood and a cosy beer garden shaded by huge trees. Not best located right next to Hounslow Central tube this is, none the less, a decent place to knuckle down for a few pints. Best for: Hot summer nights.'
Report

Hounslow Pubs : The Tankfill pub in Hounslow
'This former racsist back water of a pub is now closed down - good rindance I say. Good for: dumping litter and inhaling Hounslow traffic fumes'
Report

Richmond Pubs : White Cross Hotel pub in Richmond
'A youngs pub, which is often a good thing, this delightfully located pub ( on the Thames ) attracts an up market crowd. Except that is, in summer when all and sundry descend on Richmonds terrace to drink in by the river. Certainly a better option than the Slug and Lettuce or Henrys's, the other two pubs that jostle for business on Richmonds popular waterfront. Good for: Autumnal afternoons'
Report

Richmond Pubs : Picture & Piano pub in Richmond
'Full of arse holes with more money than sense. Good for: imagining your trendy whe really you haven't got a clue'
Report

Isleworth Pubs : London Apprentice pub in Isleworth
'This slightly overpriced pub is pleasant enough with it's low ceilings and old world decor. It's the real thing, having been there an awfully long time. Good for: Sunday afternoon drinking'
Report

Isleworth Pubs : The Red Lion pub in Isleworth
'I must admit, I have given this pub such a high rating (9) chiefly besuase of it's unsurpassed reputation in the area as a well stocked ale drinkers pub. I don't drink ale but I still like this pub a lot. Great garden for the summer, two drinking areas to accomadate your mood and nice dark wood interior. Good for: Summer nights or pub quiz on a Thursday.'
Report

Richmond Pubs : The Princes Head pub in Richmond
'Ahhh, the Prince is Dead. Or at least I thought where upon they refurbished it around, I don't know, 5.. 6 years ago? Mercifully they were only expanding around the back. This is pretty much the same pub it was when I was a student here 10 years ago. Brilliant! Good for: Watching the football scores come in on a Saturday afternoon, or just bedding down with a friend for a serious drinking session.'
Report

Richmond Pubs : The Lot pub in Richmond
'Now one of those 'Scream bars' - called 'The Lot' it offers nothing to the serious drinker other than comfy leather sofas. It's a student pub though so you can't really complain. Good for: Bring your yellow card.'
Report

Twickenham Pubs : The George pub in Twickenham
'This used be a great pub - before they turned it into an Edwards, or some other evil hybrid. It was dark, had a fire, carpets, booths.... Now it's bright with a wooden floor and an air vent that makes one hell of a racket whilst persuading you to get the hell out there for fear of freezing. Pants.'
Report

Richmond Pubs : The White Swan pub in Richmond
'Nice and out of the way one this. Modern touches have failed to detract from the dark oak panneling wisely retained during (relatively ) recent refurbishment. Shame about the large coffee area that's been put in. Good for: Impromptu drinking, early evening.'
Report

Richmond Pubs : Henrys Cafe Bar pub in Richmond
'Wouldn't call this a pub really. Cafe by day, demonic revelry by night. Stay clear of the latter, unless you like to wear ones jumper over your shoulders and recall the days when George Michael was considered 'cool'. Best for: coffee on a winters Sunday afternoon'
Report

London (W) Pubs : Blue Posts pub in London (W)
'This pub shouldn't be any good. The decor resembles the set of a seventies and there isn't much room to boot. You would expect the clietelle to be older too but but no - 'trendy' ( I use that term with a pinch of salt) twenty/thirty year olds abound. Not that this makes a pub, but in this case it adds to the surreal spectacle of this most untypical of inner city old school boozers. Good for: Start of a pub crawl around Soho'
Report

Plymouth Pubs : Dolphin Hotel pub in Plymouth
'Berol Cooks favourite boozer. Good for: Fisherman'
Report

Plymouth Pubs : Yates Wine Lodges Ltd. pub in Plymouth
'Absolute sh*te. Full of janners looking for violence. Good for: Getting your head kicked in by an ugly retard'
Report

Plymouth Pubs : The Hogshead pub in Plymouth
'If you are drinking in this area then the Fortesque is a good bet. If that is closed ntry Goodbody's - the beer is rank but it's underground. If that's shut ( for some mysterious reason ) then head up North hill and try Cuba or Ride. Failing that then there's the James Street Vaults by the university. If that's not open then maybe try out the Hogshead. Good for: Christ knows.'
Report

Hounslow Pubs : Palmerston Pickled Newt pub in Hounslow
'They have dropped the 'Pickled Newt' bit and this pub is now simply known as the Lord Palmerston - a far more dignified moniker. The interior has changed little, save for the addition of a sofa around the back. This place has character. Some might find it a little rough around the edges but I like it. They used to have a free duke box, but I have to admit I have not been there for a while. Good for: Rainy Saturday afternoons'
Report

Twickenham Pubs : The Hobgoblin pub in Twickenham
'Walk past this pub during the day and you might be intrigued. Indeed it's interior exudes a certain quirkyness that should be gratifying. However, the distinct lack of seating makes sense if one is unfortunate to stumble upon this watering hole late at night. There are bouncers on the door - enough said. Good for: Aggro'
Report

London (N) Pubs : The Medicine Bar pub in London (N)
'That's Medicine BAR actually. And a bar it is, but none the worse for it. Good music, scruffy sofas, old school lighting... You can enjoy a few drinks here, and without feeling like a Hoxton reject. Good for: Anything I should imagine'
Report

London (W) Pubs : Argyll Arms pub in London (W)
'Deservedly revered by Plymouth Argyle fans and Londons' denizens alike. This pub can not fail to impress based on it's unorthodox layout alone. Partitions every where, a high vaulted ceiling resplendent in deep red. It's like something out of a dream. Superb. Good for: Moving on to the spirits'
Report

London (EC) Pubs : Betsey Trotwood pub in London (EC)
'Used to host 'Track and Field' nights. Alas no more. Good for: watching cute birds in 60's get-up'
Report

London (N) Pubs : Botany Bay pub in London (N)
'I don't know this pub but I wish I did. Good for: Pretending you are in 'Startrek 2: The Wrath of Khan.''
Report

London (SW) Pubs : The Charlie Butler pub in London (SW)
'This pub is done out like my Grans house - Genius. Good for: Doing a sicky and exploring new territory.'
Report

Plymouth Pubs : Kitty Ohanlans pub in Plymouth
'Can get a little rowdy but catch it on a good night and this is a decent traditional boozer. Good for: Midweek drinking'
Report

Brentford Pubs : Taipan Taverns Ltd. pub in Brentford
'Now demolished. Good for: rubble enthusiasts'
Report

Brentford Pubs : The Wagon & Horses pub in Brentford
'Not sure about this one. One of those pubs where the locals seem to eye suspiciously when you go in. Good for: feeling like a pariah'
Report

Hornchurch Pubs : The Kings Head pub in Hornchurch
'Really low ceiling, nice and dark.. never got drunk here but I bet it would be conducive to doing so. Good for: escaping from the cold on a winters afternoon.'
Report

Kingston Upon Thames Pubs : The Fighting Cocks pub in Kingston Upon Thames
'This used to one of the best pubs ever until they decided to refurbish about 4-5 years ago. They decimated its spirit. Gone are the New Orleans style wooden blinds and the dark seedy lighting. Now it's decked out in gaudy blues and yellows with a horrible wooden floor. Only the excellent duke box remains, although it's still a darn sight better than most pubs in the area. Good for: Playing pool and listening to good tunes.'
Report

Twickenham Pubs : Ailsa Tavern pub in Twickenham
'Once this was a decent pub. Then someone decided it would be a good idea to imagine that Twickenham was actually a village in rural Somerset. So now we have faux rustic paraphernalia hanging from the ceilings. Why? Good for: Pretending you are in a Harvester'
Report

Twickenham Pubs : The Moon Under Water pub in Twickenham
'It's a Weatherspooons pub. Good for: Cheap booze and old men. Funny that.'
Report

Marazion Pubs : Godolphin Arms pub in Marazion
'Nothing spectacular about this pub in itself, but with a view that takes in St Michaels Mount you can't go wrong. Good for: Pre-'The Barn Drinks'.'
Report

Kingston Upon Thames Pubs : The Boaters Inn pub in Kingston Upon Thames
'Kinda antiseptic this pub. One of those nasty purpose built boozers, probably constructed in the early 80's. Right on the Thames though. Good for: pulling up in your boat.'
Report

Kingston Upon Thames Pubs : The Ram pub in Kingston Upon Thames
'Good ol' traditional battle cruiser decked out in oak. Nice. Good for: Saturday afternoon drinking'
Report

Plymouth Pubs : The Corner House pub in Plymouth
'We have really got to come up with a name for pubs of this style. The pub that probably popped up in the ealry 80's, with a total disregard for aesthetic sensibility. They're mostly bad (Jack Stamps, The Unity) but occasionally succeed despite their ugly facade (The Endurance). This falls in with the former. Balls. Good for: Janners, Janners and more Janners. '
