Isleworth Pubs : The Royal Oak pub in Isleworth
'we visited the royal oak during the hellish august of '03. the skys over london were dark with the exhaust of autos and lorrys and trains and jets and whatever else was running on petrol. the air was as hot as a furnace. the royal oak was an oasis both inside and out - on the patio where bryan regaled us with his stories about working as clown in australia and richard assured us the water coming out of the treatment plant was cleaner than that coming out of our faucets. jim was ever the guide and tour director - not just for london but on out into the world. and pat fed us like kings. if there is a better pub - we bet jim is running that one too. '
