Stoke-On-Trent Pubs : China Garden Toby Grill pub in Stoke-On-Trent
'Recently refurbished this pub has the benefit of being by the canalside marina. It also has one of the best carveries in the Potteries. The staff are polite and helpful. On the down side they do admit children'

Report

New Mills Pubs : Pack Horse Inn pub in New Mills near High Peak
'This is a family run pub which enjoys stunning views over the High Peaks. It has five en-suite bedrooms which are very comfortable. The food is excellent and at the moment they are in the process of creating a new dining room which will be ready by December 2004. Their beer is well kept and the staff are very polite, cheerful and helpful. What more do you wnat from a pub. This one has it all.'

Llandudno Pubs : The Albert pub in Llandudno
'This is a real ale pub serving an excellent variety of food. It is family run and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. I would recommend thia establishment to anyone visiting Llandudno. '
Report

Saverley Green Pubs : Greyhound Inn pub in Saverley Green near Stoke-On-Trent
'This is a cheap food pub and that is all that it has going for it. The staff are surly if you can get their attention and they have no idea of running a bar. Its clients are mainly pensioners after a cheap meal. Not recommended.'
Report

Wellow Pubs : Durham Ox pub in Wellow near Newark
'I agree. It also has some reaonably priced beer. The staff are helpful and courteuos. Very pleasant surroundings. Good car park. Village green with maypole opposite.'
Report

Woughton On The Green Pubs : Ye Olde Swan pub in Woughton On The Green near Milton Keynes
'This used to be an old spit and sawdust pub but now after several refurbishments it is clearly very well patronised by locals and visitors alike. The landlord and his staff are very welcoming and the food is excellent. Also they keep a well stocked cellar and their extensive range of beers and wines are well kept. '
Report

Christleton Pubs : The Plough Inn pub in Christleton near Chester
'This pub has a very pleasant young staff who are obliging and cheerful. On top of that is the fact that the landlord and landlady take the time to chat with all their customers whether regulars or passing trade. They serve excellent food at a very reasonable price and their beer is cheap as well. The clientele range from the young to the old and all are treated equally. The bad news is that the current landlords are retiring in May 2005. '
Report

Eastbourne Pubs : The Marine pub in Eastbourne
'This pub is very deceptive. From the outside you would think that was small but once inside, it enfolds into a long room with a lounge at the front and then the bar area followed by the conservatory dining room and finally the beer garden. As the name implies it is decorated with all things nautical and the landlord is a jolly man and the staff and locals are friendly and chatty. The food is excellent and the helpings are huge. The beers and lagers are well kept and there are a good selections of wines. If you are in Eastbourne, be sure to give this place a visit.'
Report

Llandudno Pubs : The Albert pub in Llandudno
'On a recent visit to Llandudno, I was disappointed to find that the Albert had gone downhill somewhat. The staff were not so friendly as my first visit and I was not happy with the food that I had. I don't think I will go back'

New Mills Pubs : Pack Horse Inn pub in New Mills near High Peak
'This pub continues to be of exceptionally high standard. The new dining room is up and running and serving excellent food at reasonable prices. The staff are very pleasant and attentive. The beer is well kept with three guest bitters and there is a comprehensive wine list. It remains one of my favourite pubs of all time.'
Report

Redruth Pubs : The Treleigh Arms pub in Redruth
'The Treleigh Arms is a very welcoming pub which sells a selection of Cornish ales and a good range of lagers as well as an extensive selection of wines. The food is cooked on the premises and is of an excellent standard and at very reasonable prices. There ia a no-smoking dining room and lounge chairs in the bar. On top of all this, there is NO wide screen TV Sky Sports, NO juke box, and NO fruit machines. It has a very relaxing atmosphere, so if you want a good pint and a good meal and you are in the Redruth area this is the pub to visit.'
Report

Longford Pubs : The Ostrich Inn pub in Longford near Ashbourne
'If you like your pubs to have fruit machines and a pool table and a surly landlord and unfriendly clientele and rip-off prices, then this is the place for you. But not for this discerning drinker ! '
Report

Bradwell Pubs : The Old Bowling Green Inn pub in Bradwell near Hope Valley
'Although difficult to find, it is well worth the climb up the hill to this excellent pub. The staff are exceptionally welcoming and there is a friendly atmosphere, even from the locals. We had a very nice lunch and a bottle of very good wine. I would recommend this place to anyone who likes an open fire, good food and good beer. '
Report

Blythe Bridge Pubs : The Smithfield pub in Blythe Bridge near Stoke-On-Trent
'The Smithfield is closed down and boarded up. So no comment is viable.'
Report

Cheadle Pubs : The Queens Arms pub in Cheadle near Stoke-On-Trent
'This is a non-smoking dining pub with the emphasis on good food. The staff are attentive and friendly. The clientele appear to be in the more senior bracket. However, it is a very pleasant experience.'
Report

Cheadle Pubs : The Crown At Mobberly pub in Cheadle near Stoke-On-Trent
'This pub is now boarded up and as far as I know will not be opening again ! '
Report

Wellow Pubs : Durham Ox pub in Wellow near Newark
'On a recent visit to this pub, I was disappointed to find that it had changed hands and was no longer the happy and well patronised place of two years ago. The food was a long time coming and was cold when it did arrive and not up to the usual standard. The staff were pleasant enough but there should have been more of them. We won't be going again.'
Report

Ipstones Pubs : Fox & Goose pub in Ipstones near Stoke-On-Trent
'Since the new people have taken over this pub, it has gone from strength to strength. The service is unsurpassed and and the landlady is extremely pleasant. The chef (her husband) is also a great guy and his cooking is out of this world ! (Try his fisherman's pie) and everything is made on the premises. There is a real fire in the clean and well appointed bar in winter and the drinks are very reasonably priced. A real home from home and I would recommend it to anyone. '

Corley Pubs : The Bull & Butcher pub in Corley near Coventry
'Beckie must be very young or stupid because she has got completely the wrong view of this pub. I went there with two mates and found it to be a very friendly and warm place. The food was excellent, well presented by efficient staff. The beer was well kept and the wine was very reasonably priced. I would not hesitate to recommend this pub and Beckie should get out more. '
Report

Corley Pubs : The Horse & Jockey Inn pub in Corley near Coventry
'Once again Beckie has got it completely wrong. This place is a dump. Its only redeeming feature is its beer which is well kept. It has all the things that I detest about a pub - piped music, fruit machines, television, pool table. As far as the food is concerned, we didn't even contemplate eating there as the menus were scruffy bits of cardboard and the place was not what I would call clean. The landlord was non communicative and surly so this is one pub that I will not be visiting again.'
Report

Hollington Pubs : The Red Lion pub in Hollington near Ashbourne
'This is one of the most friendly pubs I've visited over the many years that I have been frequenting such establishments. The landlords and the regulars and even the passing trade all spoke to us and had conversations with us. This is what makes a pub popular. OK, there was ome piped music but at a reasonable level and could hardly be heard over the chat the was going on. There was several real ales on draught at reasonable prices for the area and wines also very reasonable. The food was exceptionally good and also reasonably priced served in a new reatuarant. Although hard to find, this pub takes some beating for the landlords, the locals and the friendliness of all who patronise it. May it continue to prosper. '
