Dunmurry Pubs : Laurel Glen Road House pub in Dunmurry near Belfast 'This is a very Earthy Pub frequented by regulers mostly. Situated in a working class area just west of West Belfast. I would go on the rare occassion. The staff are genuine and hard working but the entertainment is lacking. If you like a good drink come here. It has a political leaning mind so be careful what you say especially if you have an English accent!' Report
Belfast Pubs : The Rock Bar pub in Belfast 'This is one of my fav locals. It is on the Falls Road and Belongs to the same people who own the Laurel Glen and thd Devenish Complex and other bars in Belfast. Big Business usually spoils traditional bars but The Rock has retained it's spirit. Individual cubicles on the ground floor and a function room upstairs. You will always find the punters welcoming and you are assured loads of good crack.' Report
Belfast Pubs : Duke Of York pub in Belfast 'A fantastic wee pub in the Heart of Belfast with a lot of history(Gerry Adams MP MLA Sinn Fein) once worked here as a Barman. Does a great Guinness. Has good pub grub and very friendly Bar Staff. Frequented by all kinds of people. You wont find a more comfortable and warm place to have a beer. ' Report
Caldicot Pubs : The Haywain pub in Caldicot 'Ive been here a few times. One of the better pubs in sleepy Caldicot. Karaoke night is good (especially after a good few pints.) The Guinness isnt as good as you'd get in Belfast or Dublin but it's ok. The Welsh tend to be wary of foreigners like the English :) and us Irish. I'll be back.' Report
Belfast Pubs : The Garrick Bar pub in Belfast 'Since I work close to this bar it is very convenient. But that's it for me. It masqerades as a sports bar but it's just a money making machine because of it's location. The staff regularly change so there's no continuity or familiarity. The feeling I got from those working was one of indifference, the service shoddy to say the least. I recommend you all stay away from this one. It was recently on the news for all the wrong reasons. If you want I'll tell you privately.' Report
Belfast Pubs : The Kitchen Bar pub in Belfast 'A fantastic Bar with brill staff. Most of the staff have been working here for years(even decades) a sign of a good Landlord. Great food often very origional. Only one bad thing though...this historic building will soon be demolished. It will be temporary relocated around the corner. Will it keep it's appeal? Excellent 10/10' Report
Belfast Pubs : The Mermaid Inn pub in Belfast 'This is my lunctime regular. Hidden away among the big shops up a wee alleyway, you'll be a winner when you find it. The staff are always corteous the food quickly ready for you the pints superbe. Recommended by The Daily Mirror years ago it still hasnt lost it's appeal. It's quiet and attracts an older, but not less lively, clientelle. When in Belfast hunt out the Mermaid.' Report
Dunmurry Pubs : The Farmers Inn pub in Dunmurry near Belfast 'Simple message here; if you dont know what "tíochfaidh ár Lá" means stay away. If you like a boisterous night with Traditional and rebel music come here. Mind you It's been a while since I was here.' Report
Belfast Pubs : Kellys Cellars pub in Belfast 'This used to be a good bar many many youngs ago. Not now. Too dear too rowdy a very old bar(probably the oldest unbroken licensed bar in Belfast) with a great history. All I can say is "what went wrong?" Stay away go to Maddens accross the street-now you're talking GOOD IRISH CRACK.' Report
Belfast Pubs : Maddens Bar pub in Belfast 'Just excellent. pay a visit. Well secured bar. Cosy Comfy dank(in a good way) very friendly. Oh it tends to be Nationalist in a North of Ireland sense so a sort of "Brits Out" however all visiters are welcomed here. Just dont wear khaki.' Report
Caldicot Pubs : The Cross Inn pub in Caldicot 'Another good pub. Too small at times when the crowd gets in. Everyone seems to be really cheerful here. The staff are friendly although still I havent found someone in Wales who knows how to pull a decent pint of Guinness.' Report
Barrow Gurney Pubs : The Fox & Goose pub in Barrow Gurney near Bristol 'Ive been here twice as it's not far from the airport. Each time it was very early and very quiet. I got a great first pint of Guinness on English Soil here. And a very good welcome for an Irishman.. I'll be back.' Report
Donaghadee Pubs : Oceanic Bar pub in Donaghadee 'I went here during a weekday morning and had great food. Ribs... No one else in but my friend. A very quiet and pleasant meal and drink. (she was driving)' Report
Newcastle Pubs : Anchor Bar pub in Newcastle 'Headbangers of the world unite!!! Great rowdy bar- if you like that sort of thing.' Report
Belfast Pubs : Robby Dobbins Bar pub in Belfast 'This is called Hoppy Dobbins. Good working class pub good working class crack. ' Report
Belfast Pubs : Fountain Tavern pub in Belfast 'This pub does good grub upstairs. It serves a good Guinness. Clientele varies. It seems to have quite a few "older" regulers. It's a great haven for shoppers. The staff seem busy from 11am onwards. dont know what the night is like. They have a fantastic fireplace unfortunately they never light a fire. Good as part of a Pub Crawl...' Report
Belfast Pubs : Blackstaff Bar pub in Belfast 'Good honest down-to-earth bar. Nothing spectacular worth visiting.' Report
Belfast Pubs : Hatfield House pub in Belfast 'Excellant for traditional Irish folk music(and other music) quizzes etc. A little claustophobic but very amiable. Close to night clubs but in the heart of a small close knit community and near to Student "bedsit land". Fantastic place-caution:although everybody is welcome here it is a largely Nationalist-frequented bar. ie politically anti-British involvement in Ireland. The Guinness, like most Belfast pubs, is excellent.' Report
Belfast Pubs : Sliabh Dubh pub in Belfast 'Sliabh Dubh means "Black Mountain" in Irish. It is at the foot of the Black Mountain that overlooks Belfast City. Situated in the heart of Nationalist West Belfast this pub is a hive of activity for the inhabitants of the surrounding estates of Ballymurphy, Turf Lodge, New Barnsley and Dermott Hill. Really down-to-earth it's a welcome escape from everyday life and a chance to enjoy oneself in the inimitable West Belfast way. Check out the crazy Quiz on a Thursday Night and you might see me there. Warning it's not a place for the squirmish.' Report
Belfast Pubs : The Suffolk Inn pub in Belfast 'Great local for the locals. Pool Snooker Discos and a decent Guinness. Used to be surrounded by open land. Now surrounded by 100's of Apartments. And they call this progress? Very earthy. Tourist Keep Away! unless you want to see the TRUE SPIRIT of BELFAST PEOPLE. ' Report
Belfast Pubs : Whites Tavern pub in Belfast 'OK for Office lunches. Not much good for anything else. Go here after 8pm if you like a very quiet drink ---like by yourself!!!' Report
Belfast Pubs : The Parliament Bar pub in Belfast 'Not a bad bar. I havent been there in ages but it has a reputation as being popular for Gays. Straights go there too though!' Report
Belfast Pubs : Francies Tavern pub in Belfast 'Ardoyne is a different planet. No one will go to this bar and not get some satisfaction. Festival time 1st-2nd week in August Bars dont close(mmmm dont tell the Cops!!!). Excellent bar in an excellent world reknown communiity. It is one of many bars and clubs in the area. One of which(and I wont mention The Shamrock by name)sells the most drink per head in a Club than all other bars/clubs in Ireland and Britain per Government statistics). Come to Ardoyne but take off the Army Uniform.' Report
Belfast Pubs : The Queens Bar pub in Belfast 'Lovely and cosy. Fine drink and the food is ok too though a little expensive. This is a great place to meet a secret lover as it's very discreet and hidden away(I'm not saying that is a good thing but that IS a good thing). Go here and sample a great City Centre bar) ' Report
Belfast Pubs : The Devenish Complex pub in Belfast 'Too big too commercial too run by the Diamond family. Staff treated badly so service suffers. A very greedy Landlord. Dont go here it literally sucks the happiness out of you. 0 out of 10' Report
Belfast Pubs : The Capstan Lounge pub in Belfast 'Another wee hide away bar in the City Centre only this time it has a loyalist/protestant leaning(this is important to know if you are not familiar with Belfast politics) Lovely grub here with a sea flavour(hence the Capstan) Guinness is good too. Unfortunately I had to leave around 8 as I was not from the right community.' Report
Belfast Pubs : Rotterdam Bar pub in Belfast 'Excellant and friendly. Musically orientated(good trad-folk-Irish). A bit out of the City Centre . Popular with the sailors.' Report
Belfast Pubs : Robinsons Bar pub in Belfast 'Big complex with 4 or 5 bars some themed. This place gets bunged(packed)at the weekends. The Guinness is great and the free music on Friday is Brill, Night Club aint bad either.' Report
Ballycastle Pubs : Anzac Bar pub in Ballycastle 'Bought by an Irisman who was in the British Army but joined the Australians and NewZealanders(hence ANZAC) and fought in Gallipolli. This is an excellent family orientated pub with good food and a great layout. Does all entertainment as well. Grat bar in a Great holiday town.' Report
Ballycastle Pubs : The Harbour Bar pub in Ballycastle 'Awful awful!! Punters are extremely ignorant. Barmaid very rude. Dont go here it reeks of"we dont like your sort around here" IE they dont like anyone .It amazes me how it stays open.' Report
