Durham Pubs : Dun Cow Inn pub in Durham 'old style pub, very small inside but nice atmosphere' Report
Durham Pubs : Klute Ltd. pub in Durham 'tends to be populatated by students, if that's what you're into then fine, very small nightclub and £5 in plays cheesy music!' Report
Durham Pubs : Swan & Three Cygnets pub in Durham 'Nice pub beside the river, can sit outside in summer, beer selection is a bit limited though' Report
Durham Pubs : The New Inn pub in Durham 'On the more expensive end of the pubs in Durham, has a good menu of bar meals and participates in the Yellow Card scheme. Good for those who like to go to the pub to watch football' Report
Durham Pubs : The Court Inn pub in Durham 'A nice tradiditonal bar near to the courthouse, serves food as well, has a no mobile phone policy' Report
Durham Pubs : The Fishtank pub in Durham 'small nightclub over a fish and chip shop caters for those who like more alternative music. stays open until 3am but stops letting people in at 12am' Report
Belfast Pubs : The Kitchen Bar pub in Belfast 'I really love this place the staff are really nice they have their own ales, and serve food, even giving away free sausages on a saturday. Unfortunately its going to be pulled down despite being one of the oldest pubs in Belfast and its association with the theatre as someone in the planning office thought that we needed yet another shopping centre, and decided that the 1960s office block next door was worth keeping!' Report
Belfast Pubs : Duke Of York pub in Belfast 'beloved of the archaeologists. nice old bar with good beer, and has a small nightclub upstairs that caters for the "alternative" crowd, ie those of us who hate dance music, sort of like a smaller version of the Limelight in terms of music' Report
Portrush Pubs : Springhill Bar pub in Portrush 'One of the nicer bars in Portrush, does live traditional music (I think on a thurday night if memory serves me correctly) Portrush is a bit dead out of tourist season so it helps to know where to go to meet other human beings! Popular with students as Portrush is near the Colraine campus of the University of Ulster' Report
Belfast Pubs : Rotterdam Bar pub in Belfast 'does great live music and last time I was there the band was great and the beer reasonably priced, bit hard to get home from though, but the bar staff will order you a taxi (just make sure no-one steals it on you)' Report
Belfast Pubs : The Errigle Inn pub in Belfast 'This is I think meant to be the Errigle owned by the Mcgurrans... its too near where I grew up for me to appreciate in that all the people I went to school with who I never really wanted to see again tend to be there! Nice bar, does good food. Has three bars, a wee bar at the back where its quiet, the main bar where all the youngish folk are, and the smaller bar at the front full of fellas watching horse racing, and once blokes in Arran jumpers playing trad....' Report
Belfast Pubs : Limelight pub in Belfast 'This is my favourite nightclub in Belfast catering for those of us who hate dance music and prefer alternative and rock music. The pub Katy Daly's next door is where I usually drink and I love the atmosphere in both places where no-one cares what you look like or how bad your dancing is!!!' Report
Shincliffe Pubs : Seven Stars Inn pub in Shincliffe near Durham 'I like this pub, its an old coaching Inn I believe, used to go for a walk on sundays to Shincliffe from Durham and stop there for a pint. Does food and B&B too.' Report
Belfast Pubs : Auntie Annies Porterhouse pub in Belfast 'run by the same people who run Katy Daly's and the Limelight, smaller downstairs and therefore harder to get a seat but a good range of dinger songwriter nights etc and a disco type thing upstairs which I can't really comment on as I only ever went twice about two-three years ago!' Report
Belfast Pubs : Bar 12 pub in Belfast 'Attached to a hotel, alright for a quiet drink, beware football screen if you are with males -they'll ignore you!!! Sometimes has a live band which can be varied! Over the road from the Empire' Report
Belfast Pubs : Laverys Bar & Gin Palace pub in Belfast 'Not my personal cup of tea, used to liek the place when I was 17 and went to the disco upstairs, however they used to do a rock music night inthe back bar downstairs on a wednesday. Also does nice lunches. Very studenty as far as I can remember' Report
Belfast Pubs : Milk pub in Belfast 'Not my personal taste in music but nice place last I remember, appparently its been done up recently, posey nightclub sort of a place with gay nights on a monday and sometimes big DJs if you like that sort of thing' Report
Belfast Pubs : Parlour pub in Belfast 'Former Vicorian townhouse turned into bar, quite near the students union and the University, does ok food.Run by a large chain, so the same as the rest of Wine Inns ltd really in terms of beer range. Done up with big wooden bar and antique furniture and gas lamps. has disco upstairs which is very loud and can be heard downstairs, so if you want a quiet drink try and get the small room at the back' Report
Belfast Pubs : The Botanic Inn pub in Belfast 'Not my personal favourite, allright for lunch and used to do traditional music nights on wednesdays when I was a student, but the place gets so full it takes you half an hour to get to the toilet never mind getting served at the bar. Nightclub upstairs, never went but has the reputation for being a cattle market' Report
Belfast Pubs : The Globe Bar pub in Belfast 'Haven't been in years, use to be the Elms and then got done up, I remember the music being naff but an alround good night out with ok food there during the day and cheap cocktails. Don't know what it's like now though' Report
Belfast Pubs : Judes pub in Belfast 'Near where I live so have been there a few times even if it isn't really the sort of place I would normally go, models itself on another bar of the same name in New York apparently. Has nice food during the day and music at nights. Was trying to aim for the Yuppie market but never quite made it!' Report
Belfast Pubs : The Pavillion Bar pub in Belfast 'Run by the same people who run Lavery's in town Haven't been there much but the downstairs bar is ok with open fired etc. Top floor is a pool hall with varying choices of music but a bit dull unless you bring a good crowd of your own mates!' Report
