'Ok - very big "fun pub". Plenty better than Chicago Rock and much more professionally run. Not impressed with the range of drinks on offer, however, very limited. The design of the place is also, though new, very dated - classic 1980s style pub/disco.'

'I like this place and I've given it top marks because it's taken risks. There is nothing else like this in Lancaster. It takes bar design to a new level (like it or not) in Lancaster. Cutting edge design, exceptional lighting and fittings (chairs, tables etc) straight out of a designer magazine. Needs a little more work, needs to be more user friendly but you can't fault the effort. Not tried the restaurant - but I've wandered around it - quite simply it's a beautiful looking restaurant.'

Aldcliffe Lance Pubs : The Waterwitch pub in Aldcliffe Lance near Lancaster
'Not going to bother writing too much on the Waterwitch. There were TV cameras from Granada TV when I visited last night - it's in the papers every week, has won a hat full of awards and it's a very lovely pub with great beer, a beautiful location and top dollar food. New toilets too !!'

Barrow-In-Furness Pubs : The Duke of Edinburgh Hotel pub in Barrow-In-Furness
'I don't write too often on this website now as there are plenty of people who do ! However, I saw the ratings for this pub and just had to comment. The new Duke of Edinburgh is undoubtedly the most spectacular bar in Barrow, with open fires, very stylish furniture, 8 cask ales, dozens of bottled beers and really lovely food. There's nothing like it in Barrow and obviously somebody locally has posted lots of low scores to ruin its rating. A bit sad really. As you can probably tell by my annoyance I know the owners - and if people realised just how much time and money theyve spent making this place work - in Barrow !! - when most companies wont go within 20 miles of the place. People should visit the bar and make their own conclusions - granted at £2.20 a pint (bitter) it's not the cheapest in town (nor the most expensive) but if you want cheap go to Wetherspoons !'
