Mansfield Pubs : The Cuckoo Birch pub in Mansfield
'Hope you like the image I just uploaded. Outward appearances are this pub's best feature I'm afraid. I had the terrible misfortune to actually work at this place as trainee manager back in 1990; it's just 5 minutes walk away from my home. Horrible beer, food very bland, clientel leave a lot to be desired, definitely a "locals" pub. No real ale, just plain tacky. Wouldn't be seen dead in here. Avoid like the plague.'

Mansfield Pubs : The Oak Tree pub in Mansfield
'This pub has gone downhill quite a bit since it's recent change of ownership. Still gets very busy, especially during sports events (Live Sky Sports). Beer mediocre. Definitely a "lads" pub if you know what I mean, don't bother taking the lady in your life there. You have been warned.'

Mansfield Pubs : The Court House pub in Mansfield
'This has got to be one of the finest pubs in Mansfield if you enjoy a nice pint of real ale at a really competetive price. Add to that fine food served all day until 11pm, with various "clubs", such as curry club, steak club, etc on various days of the week, and you have a wonderful place to pass many a pleasant hour. This is a pub I often frequent and is both a "regulars" pub and a cheap and comfortable place to eat and drink for anybody. There is an all-round friendly atmosphere. The pub is part of the Wetherspoons chain and thus is well known for quality food and drink at low prices. There are regular beer festivals offering a wide selection of traditional real ales as well. Even when it is not festival time, there is always a fine selection of at least half a dozen real ales to choose from. There is a family room and a no smoking room as well, but smoking is not permitted at the bar. It won't be long before smoking is banned completely in the pub as the Wetherspoon chain have decided to adopt this policy in all of its outlets. As the name suggests, the pub was once part of the County Court and part of the main lounge area is actually converted from the cell which keeps a part of its authenticity - and you can sit in there while having your drink. If you are visiting Mansfield I strongly recommend The Court House for a nice pint and quality food. The only bad thing is there is often a long wait to be served at the bar as there always seems to be a lack of staff. However, the quality of the beers and food makes up for this small irritation. Excellent. '

Mansfield Pubs : Widecombe Fair pub in Mansfield
'Since Tom Cobleigh's abandonded this place along with the adjacent head office, the place has gone to the dogs. My wife and I had our wedding reception here back in 1994 but since then it has gone down hill FAST. Poor beer, scruffy clientel, unfriendly atmosphere. It's distressing to see once a good pub deteriorate so badly. Avoid.'

Mansfield Pubs : Railway Inn pub in Mansfield
'A lovely little pub offering interesting beers, many of the bottled and canned variety. The food is excellent and offers a choice of 4 cooked roasts 7 days a week. I frequent this place with a certain "lady friend" and we always enjoy our food and drink here. Hoping to fill out a survey for this place soon so watch this space.....'

Sheffield Pubs : Ranmoor Inn pub in Sheffield
'This classy little pub is one of my favourites out of Sheffield city centre and is located in the area where I was born and bred. The pub offers a selection of traditional hand-pulled ales including Timothy Talyor Landlord as a permanent fixture. On 90% of my visits to Sheffield I will have my lunch here. The menu is rather basic and doesn't have a great deal of choice BUT that is more than made up for by the quality of the food and the fast, reliable service. Like any pub "up north" you are guaranteed a friendly welcome, even on your fist visit the staff will make you feel like it is your local. A lovely place to sit back, enjoy a drink, a nice meal in a lovely and peaceful part of Sheffield. Excellent.'
