Bagthorpe Pubs : Shepherds Rest pub in Bagthorpe near Nottingham 'Pleasant pub, off the beaten track. Landlord new (since June 2004). Good food, with fish as speciality. No food Sunday. 2+ real ales (regional). Friendly staff. Mixed age group clientele. Worth a visit.' Report
Eastwood Pubs : Man In Space pub in Eastwood near Nottingham 'Modern pub, very well known locally. Serves Hardy and Hansons (in fair condition).
A very popular young persons pub. Pleasant staff. Exceptionally busy at weekends when the crowds spill across the road! Not unpleasant or intimidating though, even for older folks like me, particularly during the week when a quiet spot can still be found.' Report
Eastwood Pubs : The Lord Nelson pub in Eastwood near Nottingham 'Town centre pub, formerly with poor reputation, but very much improved since refurbishment and now has pleasant, comfortable, atmostphere. Polite bouncers at weekend keep trouble away when it gets busy and during the week there is usually a quiet spot although it is generallt lively. Welcomes visitors of all ages.' Report

Brinsley Pubs : Brinsley Lodge pub in Brinsley near Nottingham 'Large popular pub, with "club-style" seating downstairs and food-oriented seating upstairs. Excellent value food, particularly steaks, for which they are well known locally. Busy at times. Off the B600 on the road between Underwood (M1 J27) and Eastwood.' Report
Bagthorpe Pubs : Dixies Arms pub in Bagthorpe near Nottingham 'Small, dark pub! :) Formerly very good for real-ales, but since change of ownership, less so. Still characterful and worth a visit though. Off J27...but can be a little difficult to find. (Also try "Shepherds Rest" further along road!). ' Report
Newthorpe Pubs : Horse & Groom Inn pub in Newthorpe near Nottingham 'Typical Hardy & Hanson pub on the B600 between M1 J27 and J26. Sells Kimberley Best, Olde Trip and a Seasonal Kimberley beer plus kegs. Very food oriented, with passable food from the "Kimberley range". Large pub, with extensive beer garden and very popular in summer. [Conveniently, it's also next door to me, although that is a mile away!!]' Report
Kimberley Pubs : The Queens Head pub in Kimberley near Nottingham 'Popular, friendly, well run pub on the B600 at Watnall, with nice landlord and somewhat scatty landlady (both foreign, young, and exceptionally nice!!). 3-4 regional or local real ales, usually in good condition. Popular for food, with very good value Fish & Chips (exceptional quality). Beer garden behind pub.' Report
Kimberley Pubs : Stag Inn pub in Kimberley near Nottingham 'Deceptively small pub, set back from the road at the North side of Kimberley, not far from Sainsbury. A couple of well kept real-ales. Nice staff.' Report
Kimberley Pubs : The Queens Head pub in Kimberley near Nottingham 'Oops! Earlier comment referred to the Queens head at Watnall (exactly a mile away). Not sure how it ended up here!' Report
Bagthorpe Pubs : Dixies Arms pub in Bagthorpe near Nottingham 'Less of a beer range than there once was, but usually a good pint or two available including one decent guest.
Not as dark as my previous comment!:) Beer patio at front / smoking area at back now.
Very popular old traditional pub - sometime crowded especially at weekends. Mixed clientele.
Open "All day, every day". Dog friendly!' Report
