Horsforth Pubs : Toby Carvery pub in Horsforth near Leeds
'Nice friendly pub with a good daily carvery. 2 cask beers available, but watch closely! They ALWAYS shortpour the real ales. They pull the handle a couple of times, hand it to you and turn away. I've been given beers with up to (believe it or not) 2 inches of foam on the top. Even under the best of circumstances they always need to be told to give a full measure.'

Garforth Pubs : The Gaping Goose pub in Garforth near Leeds
'Traditional pub on Selby Road. The only pub in the area that is in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide. Very nice bar staff keep the tables in a neat condition. Pre-wrapped sandwiches and snacks are available at the bar. 1 large main bar room, with a couple of small cozy side rooms. A very quite, traditional horse-brass pub, no themes but good real ales, often by Theakston (including their Mild), with regular Tetleys on the hand-pull and other rotating guest ales. Also the usual range of lagers. The Gaping Goose also have a popular quiz night, but at any time I think this place is worth a visit. There is no beer garden, but there are tables with benches to the front and side. The pub is set back from the main road, so it is quieter outside than you would expect. '

Garforth Pubs : The Podger pub in Garforth near Leeds
'Large, recently refurbished pub on Church road. Nice, open, confortable pub with good food, a clientele that ranges from the lads to families. A dartboard and pool table make this a popular place. However, the past few times I've been there I've turned and walked out. There is an overwhelming smell of urine that hits as you enter. Once this is corrected, though, I'd recommend The Podger.'

Leeds Pubs : Scarborough Hotel pub in Leeds
'Famouse Edwardian-era pub, with a quickly rotating selection of real ales (3-6 on at any given time). Very popular with business people, shoppers, and lovers of independent Yorkshire breweries. End of January and mid-August they have a beer festival, with up to 50 beers during that week (10 extra hand-pumps are on for festivals. Decent food, good size portions. The usual batch of lagers are available, as is a large selection of whiskeys and spirits. Very large, spacious interior can get absolutely jammed on an evening. The down side is the gent's loo: pretty horrible, let's leave it at that. Doesn't have anything near the problems it used to as a football hooligan's pub. If you haven't tried it, give it a go. It is a mecca for real ale fans.'

'Now that the problem I'd noted in my earlier review has been addressed, I'm happy to recommend this pub.'

Otley Pubs : Summercross pub in Otley
'Sadly, this pub is now closed to make way for a housing development. The Summercross will be missed.'
