Withernsea Pubs : The Commercial pub in Withernsea 'Nice pub, with two real ales, Tetleys Bitter and Mild on handpump. Decent food at fair prices. Pretty quiet, nice atmosphere, has a conservatory on the side which takes away some of the old charm but an alright pub.' Report
Whitby Pubs : Jolly Sailors Inn pub in Whitby 'A nice little pub. Not much choice of drinks but has cheap juke box and pool table in a rectangular two roomed pub. I believe the beer was Tetleys Magenet?' Report
Hull Pubs : St Johns pub in Hull '4 real ales on and at least one changing guest. 3 rooms and pretty much kept it to it's original Victorian style. The pub has been up for sale for a while and at present is ran by Frank Jackson and his wife and is leased from Marstons brewery. They do not do food but do allow people to bring there own or ring for a take away! The clientele range from students to students that never left Hull in the 60's. To the left is what we call the old timers bar, to the right was the smokers favourite bar but they now have to go in the beer garden with its new porch and to the back is the student bar though the people there are usually once students of the 30 to 40 age range. Great looking pub interior, some modernisation but not enough to ruin this charming town pub a little out of the main city centre. Get a bus up Beverley Road and ask to get off before Queens Road, then a minute walk. Real ale about £2.25 a pint and some special promotions on most of the time. Old Empire seems to be a regular real ale now and well worth trying.' Report
