Garndiffaith Pubs : The Hanbury Arms pub in Garndiffaith near Pontypool
'I have visited this pub twice now. The landlord is Karl, and he is a very pleasant young man from the south of England. He has been at the pub for 6 months and has brought back a lot of the clientele who had previously migrated away to another local establishment. Karl has brought the locals from this ex mining community together and the pub has a strong local flavour. Refurbishments may now also be on the cards which will also make a big difference to the area, especially as food may soon be available. All in all a lively and friendly pub, and I will no doubt return next time I am in the area.'
