Warham Pubs : The Three Horseshoes pub in Warham near Wells-Next-The-Sea
'Lovely old pub in a pretty location. It has a great menu and serves absolutely fabulous food. It's very popular with locals and holidaymakers alike so you need to get there early to get a table. '

Marchwood Pubs : The Pilgrim Inn pub in Marchwood near Southampton
'Lovely thatched country pub with the usual features. Lunchtime food is very good. Staff friendly. There's also a detached thatched restaurant with serves excellent food.'

Dibden Purlieu Pubs : Heath Hotel pub in Dibden Purlieu near Southampton
'Frightful pub, standard pub fair and seems to be a haven for the local rowdy youth. It's a shame because it's adjacent to the lovely New Forest and could be a nice place.'

Cadnam Pubs : Sir John Barleycorn Inn pub in Cadnam near Southampton
'Nice old thatched pub with excellent food. Popular place so you need to be early at lunch times or evenings to get a decent table. The staff are friendly and the service excellent.'

Fawley Pubs : The Jolly Sailor pub in Fawley near Southampton
'This is a great old pub quietly located in a small creek on Southampton Water. Lots of sailing memorabelia in the bar. There is a small restaurant serving good food and there are a few tables outside. Sailors moor their boats and visit the pub. Busy in the summer and just locals in the winter. '

Hamble Pubs : Bugle Inn pub in Hamble near Southampton
'Wonderful waterside location in this famous sailing port. The pub is a grade 2 listed building and quite large with several areas and popular with both locals and travellers. The food is good and at a fair price. It's being refurbished to a high standard at the moment and is due to reopen next month [June 2005]. '

Linwood Pubs : High Corner Inn pub in Linwood near Ringwood
'This is a great pub and not easy to find. There's one signpost on a 'B' road in the middle of wilderness in the New Forest and then a 500 yard drive down a gravel track. The pub appears in a clearing in the heart of the forest. There are no other roads other than the track. There's a wealth of character in this pub which dates back to the 17th century. It's very popular with those in the know of where it is, and packed on a Sunday when people take their families for Sunday lunch. There's plenty of benches outside to eat on a warm day. The menu is varied and the food okay but it good be fabulous if they tried just a bit harder. There's a very good children's play area outside and some wonderful woodland and heathland walks right outside the door. The downside is that the pub is almost too popular and the fabulous location is rather spoiled by dozens of people and noisy children. A victim of it's own popularity. '
