Ilkeston Pubs : The Durham Ox pub in Ilkeston 'A cracking real ale local. Every good local has its character sat in the corner providing humour and entertainment. The Ox is no different with Grot.(Peace man! chill out)' Report
Ilkeston Pubs : The Needlemakers Arms pub in Ilkeston 'A tradition local serving a good range of real ale, the second best I've found in Ilkeston. A friendly atmostphere and a truely unspoilt two room boozer. There's also a large family area to the rear and a grassed beer garden/play area. ' Report
Ilkeston Pubs : The Gallows Inn pub in Ilkeston 'A traditional local sited by the canal lock with potential but at the moment aimed at the younger age bracket with alcopop, music, screened sport and pool. A good food menu. Reason to avoid? no real ale. ' Report
Wells-Next-The-Sea Pubs : Golden Fleece pub in Wells-Next-The-Sea 'A wonderful quay side pub with good real ale. You could sit for hours with a few pints looking out to sea watching the boats coming in and out. An insane lunatic of a barman called Steve adds to the atmosphere through his hate of customers and expensive abbott ale.' Report
Wells-Next-The-Sea Pubs : The Globe pub in Wells-Next-The-Sea 'As of march 2005 this pub was a mere shell. Four walls and nothing inside or on top. Very extensive renovation going on. My fear is that this will be another local pub turned into restaurant that sells ale (lets hope not!)' Report
Kirkbymoorside Pubs : Lion Inn pub in Kirkbymoorside near York 'The Lion Inn on remote Blakey Ridge is a family run 16th Century freehouse. Located at the highest point of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, it stands at an elevation of 1,325 feet offering breathtaking views over the valleys of Rosedale and Farndale.
This is THE best pub I have visited in the UK. Superb atmosphere, food and real ale. Fiendly helpful staff and an ideal stopping off place right on top of the moors. Open fires burn all day and evening in the ancient fireplaces. The original low beamed ceilings add to the friendly atmosphere of the Inn.
Just go there, you wont be disapointed.' Report
Wells-Next-The-Sea Pubs : The Globe pub in Wells-Next-The-Sea 'Now reopened as a rather upper class eating house with a pricelist to reflect it (probably because it is now owned by the Holkam estate). Not a place for ordinary people to visit. ' Report
Ilkeston Pubs : The Gallows Inn pub in Ilkeston 'In view of previous comments I have now tried this pub for 3 friday nights in the last 2 months and have found it as rocky as a spice girls reunion. No "rock" disco, still no real ale and it is hard to find a reason to visit this pub which is really frustrating seeing as it is on my door step !.
Plus points? its nice siting by the canel side inhalling the car exhausts from Notts Road. ' Report
