Have found Wetherspoons a bit dissapointing as real ale is not always served even though its advertised, but willl still drink in these."

'My jast jaunt in here had me tasting the three real ales on offer, George Gales HSB 4.8%, Archers Loverboy 4.1% and Wensleydales Foresters 3.7%, not keen on the Archers but the other two perfect, but just to be certain had a few of each. This club is so friendly its scarey, and you certainly don't have to ask for a top up, if you don't go you don't know what your missing.'

'I heard that this was a very busy pub but well worth a try, so Sunday afternoon around 3 ish went in to find 3 people in. Great pint of Tetleys old world pub at least 3 small rooms behind a small bar. Think the other ale on was Speckled Hen, lovely atmosphere, think its quiet because of the cheap pub around the corner, well worth a visit even if the woman serving seemed a bit tipsy.'

'I find this as a must when visiting, there was five real ales on tap, Buffys Amethyst, Springhead Roaring Meg, Roosters Yankee, Whitby Black Dog Rhatas and Deuchars IPA, there was also Westons Old Rosie Cider. A mixed crowd one or two I wasn't sure of but thats life, patio looks as if it could be busy all in all worth a visit.'

'Never been before and how we got served I don't know very busy pub is an understatment, both rooms very full, I know there small how he puts a beer festival on I'm going to have to visit, ended up sitting in the corridor. This pub had 6 yes 6 real ales on Adnams Bitter, John Smiths Cask, Greene Kings Abbot, Timothy Taylors Landlord, Deuchars IPA and Camerons Strongarm Ruby Red, how do they do it. Terrific atmosphere for a pub thats like a Tardis. Next time I visit I will make sure I'm one of the first in, great place.'

'This has to be one of my favorite pubs, known as The Wonkey Donkey the beers is always excellent, not only selling York Brewery beer. Lancaster Brewery Murrays Vanguard?, Eccleshall Slaters as well as Yorkshire Terrier, Guzzler and of course Wonkey Donkey. Bar staff wouldn't stop talking but that was okay a friendly pub, a few pints and the toilets are down stairs so becareful. Theres a piano in the bar does anyone ever play it. EXCELLENT.'

'Real ale on tap at the moment are Wells Bombardier, J Smiths Cak, Marstons Pedigree, Jennings Cumberland and Tetleys Dark Mild. Theres now a real cider on called Addlestones. They also have J Smiths extra smooth, Camerons Strong Arm chilled, Guinness, and Tetleys Imperial. Lagers are Fosters and Carling extra cold, with the two ciders Woodpecker and Strongbow.'

'Went last night for our Christmas dinner, excellent staff very helpfull first class inn. Four real ales on tap, Jennings Bitter £2.30, Banks Bitter £2.30, St Austells Tribute £2.50 and Jennings Cumberland ale £2.50. This is now a one room pub with extensions built on, seperate dining area.'

'First time in, early Sunday afternoon, not a bad place, food snacks on the counter, don't know if I agree with this, hygene and all that. All looked like locals apart from me, stuck to lager no real ales. There was a large screen showing football but you could only see half the screen, sun and all that. 'Okay my kind of pub, right round the corner is China Town, like pubs with wooden floors and this one is excellent. Visited Sunday afternoon very quiet and six real ales. Litton-Gold Crest 4.1 Wensleydale-Semer Water 3.9 Titanic-Stoker 4.5 Pictish-Northern Dawn 4.3 Wensleydale-Black Dub 4.4 Caledonian-Deuchars IPA 3.8 Excellent service very chatty lass behind the bar answered all our questions and also told us off others places to visit, first class, they also show live football matches. '

'My first visit and won't be my last, six real ales and what a place to visit part of the Fitzgerald chain of pubs, A large glass domed ceiling gives plenty of light and has several small cosy booths. It has won pub of the year last year and can understand why, right next to the Tyne Theatre.'

'I'm not a big follower of Weatherspoons pubs but visited here Sunday, four real ales were on and the two I had were first class, the pub looks as if a good clean wouldn't go a miss but to be fair it was very windy and the doors kept blowing open. At least two people left without finishing there lager, window was broken and boarded up doesn't look good'

This pub was clean and cheap but the beer wasn't first class, did complain and was given a fresh pint, it was better. To be fair I only visit Sundays so would be interested in comments on a week day.'

'Not my favorite pubs Wetherspoons, but was dissapointed yet again by the fact advertising real ale and two weren't on and no clips showing so. I did have an excellent pint of Ringwood Fortyniner at a cheap £1.59, very busy and I think understaffed, empty glasses all over and no one seemed to come and collect them, but like I said was very busy.'

'Called in Thursday night around 8.30pm only a few in, this pub stretches back a fair way and has a pool table and real ale as well as Old Rosie cider, my choice was Old Raby Ale very nice. Thought it odd there wasn't many in a sign up says free pool table from 7pm. This pub is not up to date more like a working mans pub, believe there could be atmosphere here if it was busier.'

'Excellent couple of cheap beers yesterday and a very busy pub, very clean, wasn't easy to get served at the bar as there was so many stood around but was seen and very quickly served. Only problem is now theres a smoking ban in pubs there was arond eight people stood by the door smoking, so wasn't that easy to get in.'

'Just reopened after a refit, first class pint of Theakstons, plasma tv's and a pub that sells toasted sandwiches, now why don't more pubs do this? Very clean and a mixture of young and old drinkers, younger ones out numbered the oldies, loved this pub and will visit again.'
