Walton Pubs : The Centurion Inn pub in Walton near Brampton 'Nice relaxed place with a fantastic view across the valley in the beer garden. Great pint of Jennings on draft. Didn't eat but food look decent enough.
Decor a bit dated but it's a pub selling good beer, that's the important thing.
A very welcome sight after climbing up the hill on the Hadrian's Walk!' Report
Crosby-On-Eden Pubs : Stagg Inn pub in Crosby-On-Eden near Carlisle 'Great pint of sneck lifter didn't touch the sides. Looks like it has been refurbished following the january floods, there's a sign on the wall showing how high the floodwaters came up. Don't know if the stone floor is an original feature but it really looks fantastic.
Does bar meals and has a restaurant upstairs that still seemed to be open, even on a late sunday afternoon.
Staff were friendly and chatty and even sorted a taxi into Carlisle.
If you're doing Hadrian's Walk, give this place a visit.' Report
Carlisle Pubs : Yates Wine Lodge pub in Carlisle 'Typical town centre drinking barn lacking any real atmosphere. Big shed with a few chairs.
Guinness was nothing special.
Seems to be a cluster of these around the railway station, where decent pubs have had their guts and soul ripped out. Couldn't find a pint of Jennings in any of these sheds.' Report

Good standard of pub food.
The place can get very busy with walkers, cyclists and families during the summer so can feel like a whacky warehouse. Don't let that put you off since this converted pumping house is really charming and is complemented by a large modern conservatory.
Get a couple of pints of Prince Bishop down your neck and you'll definitely be back.' Report

Blaydon-On-Tyne Pubs : Bisley Hotel pub in Blaydon-On-Tyne 'Used to occasionally drink here when I lived nearby. Got that old style pub feel that many places pay a fortune for. This is due to dusters and hoovers being strangers to the place.
Locals get their sustenance from the S and N washing up liquid on tap, and the chippy two doors along.
Remember the kid's prgramme 'Stig of the Dump?'. We used to replace 'Dump' with 'Bisley'...enough said.' Report

One of the few original buildings left in the town before Gateshead planners carpet bombed the place in the 60's and 70's. The bar contains many orginal features and mementos of the good old days.
