'this would be a nice pub..nice beer.but on my visit..it was spoilt by a foul mouthed gentleman playin cards..all you could here was HIS VOICE!!!!anybody takin there wife/girlfriend in there would have walked straight out..alas i couldnt take much more and made my way out which was a shame as the beer was spot on..why do people have to do that is beyond belief..apart from that..good pub!'

'as of the above..this is one pub you must visit if you ever visit this fair city..with the beer house further down..there is no excuse not too..nice cider..nice ginger beer..good local/work trade..this pub has obviousley swallowed a few customers from a few other establishments..every time ive frequented this pub its been busy..long may it continue'

'good back street local..been comin in here since dave glass had it bless him...good jukebox and excellent ale..plus a good view of the valley from out back..well worth a walk from the main road..if your brave enough not to get asked for business from the local tradespeople..go on..give it a try'

'to be fair to this pub ive had comments that this is rife in the town in places..the swan shouldnt be singled out as the problem..its the people that frequent it who use it.the management have gone to all steps to get rid of this abuse in there pub but it just gets moved around town.think russels done a grand job at the swan and all the staff.'

'further to my comments about it being run by a chippie which it was back in 2001...this is one of the best pubs on the rammy circuit.steve and anita have really turned wat was once a real ale desert in to a good drinking real ale pub...tuesday nights quiz are the best with old jimbo on the mike..keep up the good work guys'
