This user has reviewed the following pubs:

Leicester Pubs : Marquis Wellington pub in Leicester
'This pub has recently been taken over by new management. Unfortunately, this has meant the demise of the famous Marquis Quiz Night, which raised money for Guide Dogs for the Blind, the place has been done out in the same tacky "theme-pub" atmosphere of the Old Horse down the road and the service isn't as good as it used to be. Still a friendly atmosphere is guaranteed and it is a reasonable drinking experience, with Everards on tap.'

Leicester Pubs : The Ale Wagon pub in Leicester
'This would be a good pub, with decent, reasonably priced beer. However the bar staff let the place down badly. A friend of mine was barred for swearing. We all left in sympathy and have hardly ever ventured back in since. I have never seen the landlady smile. Ever.'

Leicester Pubs : The Loaded Dog pub in Leicester
'This pub suffers because of the service. I have nothing against students particularly, quite a few years ago I used to be one. However, the bar staff are clueless, the beer is awful, overpriced and comes straight from a keg, and the service is non-existent. Other than that it is average.'

Leicester Pubs : Marquis Wellington pub in Leicester
'I wouldn't describe the pub as being very studenty - the Varsity and Loaded Dog on the opposite side of the road fit that description much better. It is mostly frequented by locals, although quite a few students go there too, especially on quiz nights. It certainly isn't too loud or brash, except when the awful karaoke night is on.'
