Ballycastle Pubs : Mcdonalds Bar pub in Ballycastle
'The 'House of McDonnell' is the oldest Pub in the area & has a real old world charm about it. You really do feel like you are stepping back in time when you walk in, and the warm welcome that always greets you, makes you feel at home, every time. There is an almost antique feel about the decor and, as a bonus, this bar hosts one of the finest Traditional Music Sessions in the country when you will hear Fiddles, Flutes, Whistles, Uilleann Pipes, and Accordions plus the usual Guitar & Bodhran accompanyment. These happen every Friday night throughout the year and kick off around 9.30pm & go on till 'late' or 'early', depending on which way you look at it! If you only have time to visit one pub while in Ballycastle, then make sure it's this one. It is the only bar which hasn't been 'modernised' and as such is still the genuine article. It has a fine reputation for a first class pint of Guinness too!'
